Sound Cedar started out as a humble lumber supplier in 1980 and has grown to ship top quality products all over the world.
Sound Cedar started in the small town of Daycreek WA in 1980. Located on the same property that their house was on, customers would come buy from Daycreek Lumber to take advantage of Mikes building experience and generosity with offering building advice.
In the mid 1980's business was growing and Mike & Patt needed more space. Daycreek Lumber moved to Sedro Woolley WA at a prominent location located right on the busy HWY 9.
In 1990, Daycreek Lumber became Sound Cedar and moved to Conway WA. Located on a high traffic corner, Mike & Patt grew their business and started to hire employees.
In 1995, Sound Cedar moved again, this time north up to Mount Vernon WA. The biggest addition to this move was the addition of indoor warehouse space to help keep the quality of our products in top shape and away from the elements. Sound Cedar continued to hire and for the first time in business history, did not close in the winter months when business slowed down. Sound Cedar was a year-round business.
In 2002 Sound Cedar expanded and moved again. This time we built a 26,000 sq ft warehouse to house both the retail indoor space and to keep our outdoor lumber covered. This allowed us to keep all of our lumber inside and prevent the weather from getting to it.
Sound Cedar survived the recession by continuing to focus on giving our customers top quality products, top quality service and all at a good price. Our experience and relationships are strong and we always strive to give our customers exactly what they need.
